HEOP

All HEOP students are required to attend a four-week summer program before the beginning of their first year in college. The summer program is designed to inform students about college life, strengthen academic and design skills, and orient students with HEOP, its services, staff, and fellow classmates.

• Arthur O. Eve HEOP students receive a financial aid package, which typically consists of TAP and PELL grants, HEOP aid, and campus-based aid
• HEOP students have five years OR ten terms of HEOP eligibility
• Supplemental financial assistance: Grants for tuition, textbooks, and stipend
• Free monthly MTA MetroCard
• Senior Thesis expense grant

• Students must be a high school graduate or possess a state-approved equivalency diploma or its equivalent.
• Students’ academic profiles, including high school transcripts, College Board scores, and academic history must indicate that they are eligible for HEOP. Ex: GPA requirements: 70 – 89 Average.
• Students must demonstrate potential for completing the undergraduate program for which they are applying.

• All economic eligibility criteria apply to the calendar year before the academic year of first entry to college. Ex: If you enter the 2024 academic year, all economic eligibility information will be from the 2023 year.
• All HEOP students must provide financial documentation to be reviewed for economic eligibility according to the guidelines below.
• For 2024-25, add $9,509 for each additional family member in excess of eight.
