    Languages offers free tutoring for students enrolled in language courses at The New School. Students hone their skills through one-on-one tutoring sessions that can focus on a range of subjects, including grammar, pronunciation, preparation of class assignments, and oral presentation.

    Tutoring is available in the following languages:

    • American Sign Language
    • Arabic (Luis Galli, Faculty Coordinator)
    • Chinese
    • French
    • German
    • Italian
    • Japanese
    • Korean
    • Portuguese
    • Spanish

    Tutoring sessions last 30 minutes and can be booked in the following ways:

    • Through a student's Starfish account
    • Through an email request to Languages at [email protected]
      Please provide your name, the course in which you are enrolled, and the desired session
    • By contacting Languages by phone at 212.229.5676

    Language tutoring sessions take place at the Languages Tutoring Lab, 66 West 12th Street, room 616.

    Cancellation Policy

    Language tutoring appointments set up through Starfish should be honored. Cancellations should be made at least 48 hours in advance. Two cancellations per semester are allowed. Upon the third cancellation, the student will lose tutoring privileges for the semester.
