Mona El-Ghobashy is Assistant Professor of Politics (Spring 2025) at The New School for Social Research.
Her research focuses on the dynamics of political transformation in contemporary Egypt and the broader North Africa and Southwest Asia region. She has published studies on the politics of law and courts in Egypt; opposition parties and limited elections; and an award-winning book on Egypt's 2011 revolution.
