Full-Day Studio Course
6 U.S. credits recommended
Language of instruction: English
In this course, students will learn the fundamental steps of audiovisual production with theoretical lectures and practical workshops. Learning the essentials of film analysis and screenwriting for fiction is key to understanding the essence of storytelling. Students will write a short movie script, and then once scripts have been developed via feedback from professional instructors, chosen scripts will be selected by Jury to go into production. Students will prepare and organize each shoot in groups, then carry out the production of the film during a dedicated production week. Finally, they will complete each step of post-production until the final movie is delivered. They will have hands-on workshops in screenwriting, directing actors, camera, lighting, sound recording, directing and editing. Lectures and workshops as well as productions will be led by industry professionals.
As this is a 6-credit course, students are required to work outside of class time (task time) to meet the learning outcomes. Based on the studio nature of the class, the assignments and the final project, task time represents the same number of hours as in-class time.
