Martina Kohler is currently serving as the Director for the BFA Architectural Design at Parsons School of Design. She was previously Associate Director of the First Year program at Parsons. Martina holds a Master of Architecture from the Technical University Munich, Germany and a Master of Architecture in Urban Design from the University of Colorado, Denver, where she completed a post-graduate program as a Fulbright Scholar. Prior to joining Parsons in 2013 Martina was an Assistant Professor at the Technical University Berlin and a Research Associate at the Laboratory for Integrative Architecture. Martina gained professional experience at offices in Munich, Berlin and New York working on award winning projects. Her professional practice today is a hybrid research/making practice that is part of conceptualizing, testing, and evaluating the paradigmatic shift in architectural work demanded by the climate crisis. As an educator she is working on developing curricula and pedagogy that support the transformation to regenerative constructed environments.
